I have found a great website called www.EventsInYourArea.com. The CEO, Brandon Barr, is a clever entrepreneur who has an ongoing need for content. The site lets you post event notices for FREE! Surfers type in a zip code and all events within a 5-mile radius pop up. The user can enlarge the radius to 10 miles or even bigger. Listings are further segregated into B2B and B2C categories.

Currently the site is peppered with chamber events, BNI and NRG meetings, free seminars sponsored by local governments, and the like. It is a perfect forum for almost any business-related meeting or gathering, whether or not admission is charged. In January I plan to start using the site to publicize open houses and the occasional “First Time Homebuyer” seminar. I could easily imagine postings for corporate open houses, job fairs, trade shows, Hank Dearden’s Capital Cabal gigs, and countless other activities. And unlike the meetings publicized on Craig’s List, events are easy to find (by zip code, geographic radius, or day of month) and have a much longer “shelf life” than 7 days. Free is good!

Brandon,
Wow, what can I say.  Today's event was a huge success and a very well attended event and everyone had such great feedback.  I can't wait to do it again.  I am looking forward to our meeting on Monday and I have a few things that I want to talk to you about to help make our website more productive and useful and also some of your technology that will help make our leads more "sticky" as a result of the feedback from today's event. Again, thanks for helping make the day a success.
Take care
June
